Course Description

This introductory course will provide foundational information about the relationship between nutrition and behavior. Students will explore theories and perspectives of behavioral nutrition and how these theories compare to one another. Some discussion of the application of behavioral health theory will be included in this course as well. This course is highly recommended to take before any subsequent behavioral nutrition continuing education course and is designed for mental health professionals, but can benefit all forms of audiences.

Requirements to Enroll

No applications are needed to enroll. All learners are eligible to enroll in the Introduction to Behavioral Nutrition and Theory course. There are no admissions requirements. It is recommended that learners have a high school diploma or GED.


Estimated Time to Completion

The Introduction to Behavioral Nutrition and Theory course is designed to take 11.5 hours for a student to complete.


Access Time

Learners will have access to their course modules for 90 days from the date of their enrollment.

Certificate of Completion

After completion of all course units and earning a 100% class progress, learners will be awarded an official National University Professional and Continuing Education Certificate of Completion.

Allow up to 24 hours after enrollment for the course to appear in Brightspace. Follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your student portal at westraining.nu.edu
  2. Click “Login”, then “Student Login”
  3. Log in using User Name (email address) and Password
  4. In your PACE student portal, click on “Brightspace LMS” on the left-hand navigation panel.
