Course Description

Educators are essential to creating safe and supportive learning environments. An educator’s social-emotional skills and dispositions are foundational to this process. Social-emotional skills and dispositions develop across the lifespan, and strengthening these can support an educator’s sense of well-being. This course will explore models of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and adult SEL. You will identify some ways chronic stress and trauma can affect educators and determine strategies for boosting your EI and sense of well-being. This course is the second in a sequence of three courses focused on creating safe and supportive learning environments. You can also take this course on its own or out of sequence.
