Course Description

This course provides a comprehensive exploration of the grant lifecycle, from understanding the broader grant ecosystem to developing a tailored grants program. Students will learn to identify and match funding opportunities with specific needs, assess organizational and individual readiness, and navigate site visits, all while building the skills needed to collaborate effectively with Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) for funded research projects.

Requirements to Enroll

All learners are eligible to enroll in GRT5005X: Working with the IRB for Funded Research Projects. There are no admissions requirements. It is recommended that learners have a high school diploma or GED

Access Time

Learners will have access to their course learning modules for up to 30 days from the date of their enrollment.


Certificate of Completion

Upon successfully completing the GRT5005X: Comprehensive Grant Management and Readiness course, learners will receive a National University Workforce Community Education Professional and Continuing Education Certificate of Completion. Furthermore, upon completing all five Grant Writing courses, learners will be conferred with an official National University Workforce Community Education Professional and Continuing Education Certificate of Completion.


How to Access My Course

After enrollment allow up to 24 hours for the course to appear in Brightspace. Follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your student portal at westraining.nu.edu
  2. Click the drop down next to “Login”, then click “Student Login”
  3. Log in using User Name (email address) and Password
  4. Once logged into your PACE student portal, click on “Brightspace LMS” on the left-hand navigation panel.
  5. Under My Courses, click the course title to get started.
